In the 1980's, Steve Martin Caro handed a demo tape to former Left Banke guitarist Jeff Winfield to hold onto while Steve left New York City for Cleveland.
The demo contains five songs sung by Steve for a possible solo album. It also contains an early Left Banke cover of the Dave Clark Five's "Glad All Over."
Myself and others have taken the liberty of converting the demo tapes to digital. I used Adobe Audition to boost some of the audio and remove dead space. I created cover art and named this CD Summer Song as a type of unofficial Steve Martin Caro solo project. My only intention for offering these songs for download is to share them with Left Banke fans both old and new. If Steve Martin Caro or anyone else who owns the copyrights to these does not want them on this site, contact me and I will take them down ASAP. I have made cover art that is printable and can be used in a CD jewel case. They are huge .tif files, made in CMYK format so I am offering them along with .jpg copies in a .zip file to save bandwidth. They look big and ugly, but they need to be large in order to print properly. You can use a free program like coverxp to get them the right size for your jewel case. You will need a program like Winrar or 7-Zip to download these files. They will take a few minutes to download depending on your internet connection. |
